Tega & Tula operate this washing station in West Arsi. At this washing station, they are known for producing high-quality coffee with a distinct Sidamo flavor profile. The coffee is processed as Q/specialty 1, which is the highest quality grade for coffee and indicates that it has been carefully grown, harvested, and processed to achieve its exceptional taste. The coffee's unique flavor is a result of the region's specific climate, soil, and altitude, as well as the careful cultivation and processing techniques employed by Tega & Tula Specialty Coffee Farm.
The washing station is located in the Kogne mountain area of West Arsi, which is known for its lush forests and beautiful scenery. The Hodum river and smaller rivers Bedesa and Belecho provide ample water for coffee cultivation, which is an essential ingredient for producing high-quality coffee.
Tega and Tula, the operators of the washing station, are committed to paying premium prices to the farmers and workers who provide their coffee beans. They are also recognized as model farmers for their investment in community development, including building schools, constructing roads, and supporting women's clinics.
The washing station also supports its outgrowers by providing them with disease-resistant coffee varieties and seedlings, as well as farm equipment. In addition, Tega & Tula invests heavily in sustainable and climate-smart farming trainings to help their outgrowers improve their farming practices and produce high-quality coffee while protecting the environment.
Overall, West Arsi washing station coffee is not only known for its exceptional taste, but also for its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
