In your cup, you'll experience a delightful interplay of pink and red hues, yielding a truly unique flavor fusion. This coffee presents prominent notes of watermelon, guava, and strawberry that dance on your palate. The introduction of lemon-lime adds layers of complexity to the acidity, with each flavor element shining with a medium to high intensity. The texture is akin to sipping on luscious fruit nectar, and the overall profile is invigorating, leaving your taste buds tantalized and your mouth pleasantly salivating.

At Gesha Village, they nurture two distinct Gesha varieties: Gesha 1931 which resembles genetically the Panamanian Gesha, and Gori Gesha heirloom, representing the rich genetic diversity of the Gori forest. Gesha Village estate is thoughtfully subdivided into eight distinct 'blocks,' each shaped by its unique micro-climate. This particular coffee hails from the Shaya block, the northernmost segment of the estate, named after the tribal leader of the Meanit people. This leader not only governs but also offers guidance and collaboration within the community, weaving a rich tapestry of tradition and coffee cultivation

    About the Farm

    • Gesha Village is a renowned coffee producer situated on a vast 471-hectare estate in the Bench Maji zone of Ethiopia, near the town of Gesha and the Gori Gesha forest, which is the birthplace of the prized Gesha coffee variety. This project is owned and operated by a team consisting of Adam Overton, Rachel Samuel, and Willem Boot. It was initiated in 2007 and has rapidly risen to become an esteemed producer in the specialty coffee industry. The estate boasts around 320 hectares of coffee planted with Gesha 1931, Gori Gesha, and Illubabor Forest varieties, distributed across eight distinct zones, each characterized by unique terroir.
    • These eight zones, often referred to as sub-farms, are named after nearby villages and significant locations. Among the Gesha Village offerings, you'll come across Bangi, Dimma, Gaylee, Oma, Narsha, Surma, Shewa-Jibabu, and Shaya.
    • The cultivation practices at Gesha Village are rooted in a mixed system of agroforestry, predominantly relying on the natural forests to provide shade for the coffee plants. This approach also encourages a diverse range of wildlife and flora to coexist harmoniously with the coffee plants, creating a symbiotic ecosystem of organisms. The soil at the estate is brown-red loamy, with much of it remaining in a pristine, virgin forest state.
