More About The Farm

Black Moon Farm: Evolved from a vegetable farm. Known for innovative processing. Multiple awards for varietals in the Best of Panama.

Hacienda Barbara: Long history (20+ years), now emphasizes certified organic and regenerative practices. Multiple Best of Panama awards for Geisha and Catuai.

Janson Family Coffee: A family business focused on sustainability and preserving the land. Geisha lots have achieved international recognition, including a World Barista Championship win.

Lamastus Family Estates: Four generations of farming since 1918. Their Elida Estate is one of the highest coffee farms in Panama (up to 2,500m). Part of the farm is within the Volcan Baru National Park. Multiple global awards for their Geisha.

Jardines del Eden: Known as an experimental farm focusing on biodynamic principles, rare varieties, and innovative processing.

Mil Cumbres: The name means "A Thousand Hills." It was converted from an old cattle pasture into a specialty farm. Emphasis on biological methods and limited chemical use. Located on the slopes of the Baru Volcano, with part of the land in the National Park.

Great value - I got some brilliant coffees.

Not your casual cup of coffee!

I ordered the Mystery Pack not knowing what I’d get, and so far I’ve brewed two out of the three coffees included. Honestly, this has been a great experience.

The first was the Lamastus Family Estates Elida Geisha. Extremely elegant and precise. Floral, tea-like, with beautiful dried apricot sweetness and a very clean finish. This is the kind of coffee that rewards patience and attention. You can tell it’s competition-level and roasted with intent.

The second was the Black Moon Farm Natural Pacamara, and it was a completely different but equally impressive experience. Much fuller body, fruit-forward and comforting. I picked up ripe fruit, nutty sweetness, cocoa notes, and a very round, satisfying cup. Bold but still well-balanced.

Both coffees clearly show the level of sourcing and roasting behind them, and it’s easy to see why Rosso is trusted at the highest level of competition. I still have the third coffee from the Mystery Pack to try, and based on these two, I’m genuinely excited to see what’s next.

Highly recommended if you enjoy discovering coffees you wouldn’t normally pick yourself.
