About The Farm
  • Coocentral has been dedicated to enhancing and distinguishing women’s coffee production within their membership. Between 2017 and 2018, they launched a project designed to provide women with access to better infrastructure and comprehensive training.
  • The program has been implemented in three phases, each targeting a new group of women while covering key areas such as productivity, coffee quality, leadership, and empowerment. These sessions strengthened participants' knowledge in farm management, equipping them with valuable skills to improve their operations.
  • To address drying infrastructure, all women who completed the training received African raised beds, which significantly improved their coffee drying processes. As a result, coffee production increased in both quantity and quality. Coocentral supports these producers by guaranteeing direct trade for their coffee at a differentiated price, ensuring they earn up to 20% above the market average.

I belive this blend is roasted to a second crack only which makes it overly light to an extent it adds taste of raw beans barkness in coffee. Also the body is below average.

Found the flavour to be lacking in depth

Found the flavour to be lacking in depth. Was hoping for the background flavours describes in the listing to be present which I had hoped would be present but wasn’t. I have had Colombian San Agustin in the past but it isn’t found in Canada anymore. Was trying for a similar flavour profile. Unfortunately this does not come close to

I found this a bit underdeveloped and hard to dial in. It's become a bit easier over time, but the beans were already over a week off roast when I got them, so they needed quite a lot of rest. They didn't look super light, but I guess they were a bit lighter than expected. Not necessarily a bad thing, but they were a bit grassy at first, and that's taken a while to shake. Overall a decent bean with some nice flavours but possibly be prepared to rest them extra and take some time to get them dialled in.
