That's correct! Kibingo is a well-known washing station in Burundi that won the Cup of Excellence in 2017. The station is operated by GreenCo, which is a leading player in the specialty coffee scene in Burundi. GreenCo has several projects in place that provide aid to the coffee farmers who contribute their beans to Kibingo.

The washing station is located in the Kayanza province of Burundi, which is in the northern part of the country and shares a border with Rwanda. The region is known for its high altitude, with an average elevation of around 1800 meters above sea level, and is the most prominent growing region for coffee in Burundi.

Kibingo was built in 1986 and is situated at an altitude of 1893 meters above sea level. The station works with almost 3000 local smallholder coffee farmers in the surrounding area and has earned a reputation for producing high-quality coffee. The name "Kibingo" comes from the Kirundi word for "reeds," which refers to the reeds that were planted on the banks of the small river that runs through the area to prevent erosion. This river eventually flows into the Nile River.

Del Agua is a new coffee producing facility in the far North of Colombia. Del Agua has the goal of minimizing the amount of water utilized in the production of coffee.

Carlos Mario Castro produces coffee with his wife, Yolima Gonzalez, on their seven hectare farm. They grow 20,000 beautiful Castillo trees on five of those hectares. They put a lot of care into their farm, as it is their source of economic security. Carlos and Yolima both work in all aspects of the farm in order to give it the attention it deserves.

There is a wide variety of flora and fauna around their farm, sometimes even howler monkeys! Hearing their striking howl in the mornings makes it easy to keep their environment in mind. They don’t use pesticides and have plenty of shade-giving trees to protect their crops and the animals that they share the land with.

Del Agua is situated in la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, in the department Magdalena. La Sierra Nevada is the second highest mountain in the World that borders the ocean and when we visit, we can go directly from the farm down to the cupping lab on the beach.
